We realize visiting a church can be an awkward experience. In an effort to make your time with us as enjoyable and informative as possible we offer the following suggestions. Whether it's your first Sunday or fifth, these steps will help introduce you to the heart of our ministry.
ASK A GREETER Someone’s always there to welcome you upon your arrival and to help you find your way around at CBC. Our greeters are especially friendly people who can tell you anything you need to know about our ministries and upcoming events. Feel to ask them for directions around campus, or to assist you in getting your children to the right classrooms.
VISIT THE WELCOME CENTER Some of our greeters are posted at the Welcome Center, located in the main entry way of the church. They’re ready to answer your questions, get you where you need to be, or provide you with any information you might need. You’ll also find a number of flyers, pamphlets and booklets describing life at CBC.
ATTEND THE CONNECTING CLASS Our Connecting Sunday school class is especially designed for first time visitors and those considering membership. It covers a wide range of subjects about the church, our beliefs, and our ministries. Taught by our elders and pastors, the Connecting Class is a great way to interact with our leaders on our church's distinctives, or to inquire about those matters which are most important to you and your family. Since the class repeats each quarter, you can join it at any time—even on your very first Sunday. One of our greeters can show you where the class meets.
ATTEND A CONNECTING LUNCH We invite all our visitors to join us for lunch on the third Sunay of every month. At the Connecting Lunch, you’ll meet the pastor and other leaders, enjoy a delicious catered meal, learn about the key features of our ministry, and hear a bit about our history as a church. But most of our time is dedicated to your questions, so feel free to inquire about our ministries, doctrine, government or anything else you want to know about CBC. You can sign up for the Connecting Lunch by contacting the church secretary (cindy@cbcnashville.org,) or by filling out the registration form in your bulletin and dropping it in one of our offering boxes. Childcare is provided.ATTEND A HOME FELLOWSHIP GROUP On the second and fourth weekends of each month our church meets in home Bible studies throughout the community. These Home Fellowship Groups are essential to the bond of fellowship at Community Bible Church—a key ingredient in promoting relationships, areas of service, and encouragement among our members. At the end of each service, there is a HFG Representative standing by at the Information Counter (near the Book Center at the back of the sanctuary) to assist visitors in finding the group that works for them. They will supply you with the study material, show you a list of groups and introduce you to the leaders.
