2021 Men’s Retreat
Our Men’s Retreat gives us a loose, relaxed environment where we can work on relationships we sometimes struggle with developing through the year. This last year has been especially difficult in this regard. We hope this year’s retreat will provide a much-needed time of fellowship among our men.
We’ll use our time away to study the riches of the gospel, and enjoy good food, great conversations, and outdoor activities (shooting, hiking, mountain biking, etc).
This escape from our regular routines gives us a chance to get to know each other in a deeper, more meaningful way. It’s a special time of building friendships and time in the Word that sharpens us, equipping us to serve one another in love as we gather together in our common brokenness.
Our elders will be teaching on the topics of sin and death (personal sin and the effects of sin in our fallen world). We will look at these topics from the perspectives of lament and Christ’s victory. We groan and mourn over our sin and all the pain and suffering around us, but in our groaning do we turn away from God or run toward him? Scripture encourages us not to grow weary or fainthearted in this battle but to look to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith.
Come anytime after 4:00pm on Friday. We’ll kick-off the retreat at 7:00pm with dinner.
We’re extending our time this year, allowing for a more focused time in the Word and in fellowship. If you’re able to stay, we’ll livestream Sunday’s service and head home Sunday at 12:00pm.
We are returning to the same location as previous years, Five Star Retreat. It is an upscale lodge ideal for hosting our gathering. It provides a true getaway into the woods with all the comforts of home. You can see more at fivestarretreat.com
Most of the sleeping areas have twin bunk beds. Please indicate when you register if you are unable to climb stairs, sleep in a top bunk, or have medical reasons you need one of the few semi-private rooms. We will try our best to accomodate all these requests.
